Fuck Yeah Beta Pokemon
You mentioned merchandising stuff, so I’m jumping on this!
Brendan and Landon are two figures from the Pokemon Trading Figure game, from the Next Quest and Groundbreakers sets, respectively. The Brendan Figure is the blue one, and the Landon is the red.
Interestingly, the Landon figure, while following the canon (red) design of the male Pokemon R/S protagonist, does not use his canon name, Brendan, instead opting for his Ruby version-exclusive optional name, Landon.
The figures are identical except for their color schemes. While it’s official merchandise, this Brendan recolor has never been seen anywhere else and seems completely random. It also begs the question of why the same character was essentially released TWICE in the game. Releasing a recolor of a protagonist color under a new name seems very strange. What were they doing with this?
Whatever the reason, I still have fun spinning my girlfriend’s Brendan figure around and going, “Aw, Brendan, why so blue?”

fuckyeahbetapokemonart: Oh my goodness, the TFG figures, I am so very familiar with the elusive Groundbreakers set, being a collector myself I have spent YEARS trying to find ONE from that set: Sabrina’s TFG figure(Sabrina happens to be this blogger’s favorite gym leader..), only one person I know of actually has her figure-without her cap base-otherwise I have never found anymore of them(;~;):
